Saddle Hackle feathers have a flexible quill and fluffy body half way down, and an organized feather body the rest of the way down. Because of their flexible quill, they add a stunning dance to craft projects. These feathers are the
higher quality thick and full SADDLE hackles, not to be confused with the thin and scimpy NECK
hackles.
These saddle hackle feathers are
dyed from white stock making their colors brilliant and true, WITH 1 EXCEPTION. The RED color is dyed from natural furnace saddle hackle feathers, which makes them a stunning feather about 6-7" long. This NEW STOCK is still strung, but in 3" lengths, which weighs approx. 1/4 ounce depending on the length of the feathers. The length will vary from color to color, but within a bagged strand there isn't much variation. They average 5" long but may be as little as 4" or as long as 6". There are approximately 100 feathers on a 3" length.
