Shield Beadwork Pattern: This is one I designed years ago, but only recently finished. It is truly stunning, with it's vibrant colors, and full of beautiful Indian symbolism. I entitled it "Abundant Life Journey" to sum up all the symbolism included in the piece. It is shown here with a willow ring bound at the top with Elk and backed by the same Elk skin. The finished dimensions of the beadwork itself, using size 11/o glass seed beads, is approx. 5 1/4" diameter, and the willow ring has about a 12" diameter. It incorporates a total of 5,867 beads. This pattern is a full 8 pages long for this unique work, all bound with removable bindings to keep it fresh and clean for years. It includes the pattern in 2 formats (an enlarged full-color pattern with color numbers, a one-page overview of the pattern), a word chart that gives you bead counts for each row, a color legend, some background and symbolism description, and a complete step-by-step set of instructions telling you how to complete the pattern and finish the beadwork as shown. To help you make sure you get the exact seed beads you need for this project, we have a bundled option that includes the beads (see product title). This is not available as a kit, where hanks are broken into exact quantities, so you will get full hanks of every color even if you don't use that much for this project. Also, we are not including the thread or needles you will need in the bundle, or the leather and ring, since those may vary according to personal preference.
