These pages are meant to thrill and inspire
you beyond belief! It is a compilation of work from different artists who's
only intent is to share their accomplishments with you. If the artist has given
their permission, then you may also see an email address near their work to
connect you directly with the artist. If they have a web site, that may also be
included near the particular artists work.
This is something I have been wanting to
get to for awhile now. So far, 2 people have contributed photos of their work
for this area. To it, I will add some photos of my own work (even though most
have gone as gifts). I'm sure there are heaps more of you out there who are
talented artists. If you would like to share your work with no obligations or
rewards (yet), then PLEASE send me your photos. Let me know a little of what
you would want me to say about them, and let me know they are for including on
these pages, and I will add your work ASAP. |
I hope you all truly enjoy and get
INSPIRED by these photos...
(some may take a little time to load, I've
made them as small as possible while maintaining their beauty) |
| First we will look at
Sharon's contribution. She says she just sits down and starts beading, creating
the design as she goes. She says she may start out making a necklace, and end
up making a barrette. She will sometimes include the Colors of the 4
Directions, but only if she feels the work will honor the Colors. Sharon has no
web site but will accept email with 1 minor requirement. You MUST put the word
"beads" in the subject of your mail or she simply won't read it. She
never reads unsolicited mail. Her email address is:

| Now we will look at Rita's work.
She has usually given me a little information on what type and size beads she
used for each piece, so I will include that here when I can find it. Rita
especially enjoys doing Applique. Rita has a beautiful web site full of more
inspirational photos as well. You will find her web site by clicking here:

Pink Rose Barrette
Rita says, "Here is a Rose Barrette. It is made
out of 15/0 hex beads, applique style. It is very pretty in the sunshine
too." |
Medicine Wheel Bag
This project is a medicine wheel deerskin bag. The
deminsions are 6"X6". I added fringe all the way around the bag and
added one crow bead and a tin cone for decoration on the fringe. I made the
medicine wheel out of 15/0 hex beads, lazy stitched right on the leather. Then
I "loomed without a loom" the two feathers at the bottom and attached
directly to the bag. |
Dragonfly Barrette
Rita say, "Here is my dragonfly barrettes....one
is made out of 9/0 cut beads, with a cobalt blue body and iris green
wings.....the other is made out of 9/0 cut beads with iris green body and iris
blue wings...they turned out good I think and when you put them on and go
outside in the sun....they look like diamonds in your hair."
(To make the photo smaller for quicker loading, I
removed one of the barrettes from the photo. Hope this is okay, Rita.) |
| And now, my own contribution. I
particularly enjoy loom work and especially plaques or wall hangings. Most of
them have been given away, however, but I kept a couple for myself. I also am
sharing a necklace and matching earrings and a belt buckle. And, if my husband
will return his wallet for a minute so I can get a photo, I'll show you my own
special way of "inlaying" beadwork in leather. |
Butterfly Maiden Katchina - Wall Hanging
This was made with size 11/o opaque beads and
"inlayed" in a leather matting to surround it and hide the edges of
the beads. It is mounted on an "artist" board and framed in a nice
walnut frame which also had the natural colored matting area already. It's
outside dimensions are 14" x 20" and the beadwork dimensions are
7" x 11". |
Rose & Butterfly necklace with
matching earrings
Again, size 11/o beads with opaque and luster type to
add depth. |
JUMP TO PAGE 2 - Dream Catchers
Well, I hope you liked
it folks. You can sure tell the difference between artists, can't you. There's
more on
Page 2 and more will come in the future, so come back
soon. And all you artists out there, send me your photos. I'll add more pages
once I have more photos.
